    I love puppets!

    I’ve composed scores for 20+ puppet theatre shows from weird and wonderful Avant Garde adult shows to super cute family shows like Julia ‘The Gruffalo’ Donaldson’s take on ‘The Owl and the Pussycat’.

    Each of them was a joy and pushed me to make new and different kinds of music.

    I wanted to share some of that music BUT… I do like a ‘proper’ song me, a ’singer-songwriter-y’ song. I just do. So I took some of the existing compositions and transformed them into new ‘proper’ songs and what belters they are!

Katy Dent has played fiddle on everything I've done for 20 years (!) and I realised I didn't have anything for her on this album, so I built this to make sure she had a good juicy bit.

The song is about being a sort of likeable, ageing, sex pest. Write what you know indeed.
