about

A NON ALBUM TRACK telling an untold story from the world of 'the butcher'

Long before the time of the star gazer and the scientist there was another voice on the island that questioned the way of the butcher...

'The rabble' was a man of ideas, principals and revolution, a leader for all the down trodden - gathering them to him, convincing them to rise up, throw off the shackles of the butcher's ways, and live a life of freedom!

The revolution did not last long. Who can say really why? Maybe the butcher was just too strong? Maybe the down trodden didn't follow the rules of revolution properly? Maybe the rabble was always a greedy, corruptible selfish man at heart? Who can say?

But that man the banker, the one who works so closely with the butcher, who seems so closely aligned to the greedy, power hungry ways of the islands round and round...some say, in a certain light, he has a look in his eye, a turn to his chin, that could be almost the double of that other man 'the rabble'... that man who was never seen again when the revolution stalled, just about the time the banker appeared in town...

lyrics

we followed our dreams
reached for the stars
never forgot who we are
are we gods now?
are we gods now?

we lined up, riled up and ready to fight
and suddenly noticed the silence that hung where you might have been
you were nowhere to be seen

so if you go there I beg you go lightly
take care where you tread my friend for you tread on my dreams
for all that we know now the world will keep turning
and this revolution will come around again
and maybe we'll win

we picked up your song
all sang along
never once got the words wrong
oh are we gods now?
are we gods now?

silence is not an answer
but sometimes there is not an answer
silence

so if you go there I beg you go lightly
take care where you tread my friend for you tread on my dreams
for all that we know now the world will keep turning
and this revolution will come around again
and maybe we'll win

so if you go there I beg you go lightly
take care where you tread dreamer do for you tread on my friends
for all that we know now the world never was turning
and this revolution will fail and fail again
and again
